For me personally, summer is the worst time of year for photography…

The histogram. A little graph that you will hear about all of the time. You will also see it appearing at the top right hand side of both Lightroom and Photoshop. But what is it? How can you read it? and how will it help improve your photography? Sit tight, grab a cup of tea and I’ll tell you.

Tripods. A pole with 3 legs, right? Nothing more than that. If it holds your camera, then that’s good enough….. WRONG. In my opinion, having a good tripod is imperative. I’m not exaggerating when I say that buying a high quality and sturdy tripod has completely changed my photography and ultimately the quality of my images. Before I delve into that, let me explain why I think, apart from your camera and lenses, why your tripod should be the next most import piece of equipment that you own.

I think every photographer goes through patches of “writers block” and sometimes need a bit of inspiration to get out there in the field. I’m someone who finds flicking through a photography book helps get those creative juices flowing, however, some people are really into inspirational quotes.
